Q: What locations do you fish out of?

A: We have salt-water boats located in Homer, Seward, and Ninilchik, as well as riverboats that run on the Kasilof and the Kenai.

 

Q: How many fish can we catch?

A: Fishing limits vary depending on species and location.

Saltwater:

  • Halibut: 2 per day/ 2 per year
  • King Salmon: 1-2 per day/ 5 per year
  • Silver Salmon: 3 per day
  • Ling Cod: 1 per day
  • Rockfish
    • Homer: 5 per person
    • Seward: 4 per person
  • Pollock/Grey Cod: No limits!

Freshwater:

  • King Salmon: 1 per day/ 2 per year
  • Sockeye Salmon: 3-6 per day depending on migration
  • Kenai Silver Salmon: 2 per day in August/ 3 per day in September
  • Kenai Rainbows: Catch & Release ONLY!

 

Q: What kind of fishing license do I need?

A: While fishing with us, you will need a sport fishing license. Resident and Non-Resident options are available.

 

Q: Where can I buy a fishing license?

A: You can buy licenses locally the day before the trip or you can purchase them online at adfg.alaska.gov and print them off at home.

 

Q: Do I need a King Salmon stamp?

A: A King Salmon Stamp is only needed if you are booked for a King Salmon trip. Halibut Charters and other combo trips do not require a stamp.

 

Q: Do you have lodging?

A: We have lodging available at our office located in Ninilchik. Our cabin rentals are $125 per night and can sleep 2-6 people depending on the cabin. The cabins are stocked with a mini fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. We also have a grill and fire pit available for use.

 

Q: Do you have child rates?

A: We do not offer child rates at our charter. Each person on the boat is capable of catching the same amount of fish and are taking the spot of an angler, therefore all of our prices are the same.

 

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: We understand things come up, but because our season consists of 4 months, we do not offer refunds within 30 days of your trip. If you have an emergency, your trip will either be offered as a credit for another time or refunded ONLY if the seats can be filled. Last minute cancellations will result in NO REFUND. We do our best to work with every guest and would appreciate guests working with us and letting us know as far in advance as possible so that you are eligible for the seats to be rebooked and refunded.

 

Q: What should I bring on the boat?

A:

  • Packed Lunch / Beverage (NO GLASS)
  • Fishing Licenses
  • Comfortable attire – layered attire is appropriate to adjust to weather throughout the day
  • Rain Gear! – You never know what the weather is going to do in Alaska. J
  • Cameras/Sunglasses/Hats/etc.

 

Q: What are the alcohol and smoking policies?

A: We do not allow smoking on our vessels. This is a company policy that all crew and clients follow. We do allow alcohol as long as it doesn’t get out of hand. We just don’t allow hard liquor or glass. What would a fishing trip be without a beer, right?

 

Q: What should I wear?

A: Wearing comfortable layers is the best way to dress. Layers allow for you to take off or put on clothes depending on the temperature. Rain gear is always a good idea, even if it doesn’t rain. Being on the boat you might get splashed a little and there will be water on the deck. It’s better to be dry and happy, rather than wet and miserable.

 

Q: What is my meet time?

Once you book your charter, we will send you a confirmation email that will have your start time on it.

 

Q: Do you have fish processing?

A: We offer fish processing out of our office in Ninilchik for $1 per pound. This includes steaking, cleaning, and vacuum packaging of fish. Out of Homer, fish processing is done at Homer Processing. You will have to call them in advance for pricing and shipping information. Seward processing is done at the J Dock, which is locally owned and operated out of Seward. Like Homer, you will have to call in advance for pricing.

 

Q: What happens if weather is an issue?

A: We do not cancel ANY trips until the morning of. We do our best to watch the weather, but the reality is – it’s always changing in Alaska. If you’re trip is due to cancellation, you will be notified in person in our office or via phone call or your captain if you are in remote locations.

 

Q: Do you give military discounts?

A: We do offer a 10% discount for all military personal. We thank you for your service!
